About Dr. Taghavi

Dr, Seyed Taghavi has received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Southern University (LA), an M.S. in Technology and Education from Northeastern State University (OK), an Ed.S. in Industrial Technology from Pittsburg State University (KS), and a Ph.D. in Technology and Education from Mississippi State University. Dr. Taghavi joined the Department of Mathematical Sciences and Industrial Technology at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff in the fall of 2001 and now holds the rank of Associate Professor. His research interests are within Electronics and Computer Technology.

About UAPB's Undergraduate Courses

Dr. Taghavi is currently developing courses for the advancement and expansion of photovoltaic cell concepts and applications by utilizing traditional classroom lectures couples with various laboratory activities that provide convenient and flexible approaches to increase knowledge and use of these cells. Later, these courses will also cover the installation and troubleshooting of the following technologies: solar energy, wind turbines, and an energy auditing panel program for both residential and commercial structures. In these courses, students will acquire the specialized skill sets and knowledge base needed for emerging technologies within the exciting field of renewable energy. The courses will be implemented at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff as one of the GREEN Center's undergraduate projects.
