About Dr. Seo

Dr. Seo earned her B. S. in Physics at Ewha Womans University in Seoul, South Korea and her Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Houston. Her reasearch interests include nitride nanostructure and film fabrication by metal organic vapour deposition (MOCVD) system and molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) system, transparent oxide metal deposition using sputtering and pulsed laser deposition (PLD) system, high effiecient light emitting diode (LED) and laser diode (LD) device fabrication and characterization, nano phot-detecor and photo-transistor device fabrication and characterization, high efficient solar cell device fabrication and characterization, and strain effect and strain-induced defect of heterostructural materials. Before coming to UALR she completed a post-doc at the Texas Center for Superconductivity and Advanced Materials (University of Houston) and worked with Samsung Electronics in Korea.

GREEN Research

Dr. Seo's GaN nanorod research focuses on the development of nitride solar cells using GaN nanrods. Research includes growth of high quality InGaN nanorods with In concentrations from 25% to 41% by molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) technique. New understanding of material growth kinetics and and thermodynamics has been achieved. The plasmonic template was also fabricated by utilizing the implantation technique, which is a low-cost process.
